Lung Transplant Open Golf Tournament
Thursday June 3, 2010
The 6th annual tournament.
Thank you to all who joined us on the "soggy" course yesterday!!! We do hope that despite the weather that you enjoyed yourself, and the scrumptious meal put on by Jimmy and his staff!!
The early calculations show that we have raised just under $40,000 - wow !!
Have a great summer everyone and we look forward to seeing you again next year - June 2nd !!
Won't you lend your support to our worthy cause - because 'nobody likes rejection.'
This tournament was started 6 years ago by Peter Laurence, a transplant recipient, to raise money for further transplantation research. This research is led by Dr. Shav Keshavjee at the Toronto General Hospital. To date we have raised $140,00 and this money has helped Dr. Keshavjee to break new ground in transplant research. Sadly, Peter is no longer with us, but we continue as we believe that we do make a difference.
You too can make a difference - whether you come out to golf, donate a prize, attend the dinner and silent auction, or simply make a cash donation, every little bit helps.
This year at the dinner we will be honouring Merv Sheppard, on of the founders of this event. Merv is tireless in his support of transplant research and travels to speak about the importance of donation. We are proud to have had him on our team and are extremely proud to be able to honour him in this way !
Let's make 2010 the best event we have ever hosted!!!
